As an artist, like many other careers you can be for lack of a more appropriate word, stereotyped. It's not that people want to label you in one way necessarily. It depends on what kind of work you produce that influences their opinion. Some times you just have to keep yourself from being assigned to a certain theme, or a particular way of looking at things. That's where creating samples comes in handy. You can challenge yourself to create with a different technique or a theme that is opposite to what you may normally enjoy.
That said, here is my book cover design for the Brothers Grimm's latest masterpiece, RED.
I love the story of Little Red Riding Hood. I mean, who doesn't? It's one of those classic tales that have been and will forever continue to be passed on from generation to generation. This could be the cover to a new take on the old tale.
