Mr. Dressup was a morning ritual for me when I was a child. ( I would say kid, but I'm no baby goat.)
If you were fortunate enough to have the CBC, then your world was a little bit more magical and imaginative.
Quirky as it may sound by looking at my current artwork, Mr. Dressup (or Ernie Coombs as he was also known) had a lot of influence in my artistic thinking. Perhaps I'll explain that a bit more some time.
For now, I'll stick with sketching him on what would have been his 85th birthday. (With two of the best hand puppets ever - Casey and Finnegan)
